IMPACT Award

The AMP IMPACT Award provides travel assistance for a molecular professional to attend the 2026 AMP Annual Meeting & Expo. The applicants must be from lower-middle or low income countries* as defined by the World Bank Country Classification.

Award amount: Up to $3,000 in travel reimbursement, plus meeting registration

Eligibility

Applicants must:

Be an AMP regular member, technologist member or early-career member residing and working in a lower-middle or low income country as defined by the World Bank Country Classification.
Submit an abstract to be presented at the 2026 AMP Annual Meeting & Expo.
Lack funding for travel and/or registration to the 2026 AMP Annual Meeting & Expo from their institution.
Secure any necessary travel visas and provide documentation for permission to attend the 2026 AMP Annual Meeting & Expo.
Submit a brief, 250-word report to AMP within a month of the conclusion of the 2026 AMP Annual Meeting & Expo summarizing their experiences and what they learned by attending the meeting.

Note: Residents from countries that are on the sanctioned country list of the U.S. Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control are not eligible.

Application process

Step 1: Prepare and collect your support documents.

1. Current CV or résumé

2. Statement of interest that includes:

Description of your commitment, experience and interest in molecular diagnostics.
Description of what you expect to gain from attending the 2026 AMP Annual Meeting & Expo. For example, how you believe the knowledge gained will expand you current understanding of molecular diagnostics, how it will benefit you in your current position, and/or how it will enhance your career.
Description of your local activities with laboratory associations (if any).
Description of the ways in which you can share your experience at the 2026 AMP Annual Meeting & Expo with local and national colleagues, such as teaching responsibilities.

3. A copy of your meeting abstract in either MS Word or PDF format.

4. Letters of support from two colleagues or supervisors. They should be practicing in laboratory medicine, healthcare administration or other official capacity. Letters from active AMP members are strongly recommended.
