ABOUT

President's Welcome: 2026

United in excellence and innovation

It is with deep gratitude and tremendous optimism that I greet you as the 2026 president of the Association for Molecular Pathology. This organization has been my professional home since 2003, and it is truly humbling to serve in this role.

Molecular pathology continues to redefine the standard of care across oncology, hereditary disease testing, infectious disease and beyond. Every day, our community drives advances in diagnostics, validates transformative technologies, and supports evidence-based precision medicine for patients worldwide. At a time of rapid change, we face both exciting opportunities and significant challenges.

Over the years, AMP has given me countless opportunities to contribute and grow. I have served in several roles, including infectious disease representative to the Clinical Practice Committee, member and chair of the Economics Affairs Committee, represented AMP in national discussions on coding, coverage, and reimbursement, and served on the editorial board of The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics. These experiences have underscored the importance of advocacy, collaboration, and education in advancing our field.

Looking ahead, AMP plays an invaluable role in and should continue as a leader in education, providing cutting-edge resources and mentorship to prepare the next generation of molecular professionals. Our members are driving progress in developing guidelines for clinical utility and quality standards, ensuring accurate and reliable results that strengthen patient care. We must also lead in establishing guidance for the responsible use of artificial intelligence to enhance workflows and interpretation while maintaining rigor and integrity that define our profession.

AMP is an international organization, and we will continue to welcome all who share an interest in molecular pathology. Our strength lies in the diversity of perspectives and expertise within our global community, and we will work to ensure that AMP remains an inclusive and collaborative home for professionals worldwide.

I am honored that you have entrusted me to help guide AMP this year. Your insight, commitment and passion are the foundation of AMP’s success. Through collaboration, innovation and advocacy, we will continue to advance AMP’s mission and to ensure patients everywhere benefit from precise, high-quality molecular diagnostics.

With warm regards,
