The Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP) and the MGP Program Director’s (PD) Council are deeply committed to education and innovating the ways in which we attract and recruit the next generation of molecular pathologists. In an effort to establish more uniformity and fairness for both applicants and fellowship programs, AMP and the PD Council have worked with MGP Program Directors nation-wide to develop the following unified timeline and code of conduct.
The programs listed below have agreed to abide by this approach for external applicants applying to their fellowship programs for the 2025-2026 recruitment cycle. Internal applicants and applicants pursuing MGP as a second (or later) fellowship at an institution where they are completing a prior fellowship may be accepted prior to June 1, 2023 and the program will still be considered as participating. Therefore, inclusion in this list does not guarantee a vacant fellowship position.
This list is not an exhaustive list of available MGP fellowship programs. All programs (regardless of participation in this timeline) are accessible to applicants by searching the ACGME website. It is the responsibility of applicants to confirm the application process with the individual programs to which they are applying.
Several MGP programs accept the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Standardized Application for Pathology Fellowships as noted below. Please refer to individual programs to confirm that this application is suitable as each program may have institution-specific requirements and applications. It is up to the applicant to ensure that the correct forms are submitted.
