Molecular Pathology Outreach Course Description:

New models of medical practice are evolving with increasing attention to the molecular pathology of diseases. The introduction of molecular testing into the clinical laboratories has increased our ability to provide novel types of information to health care providers. This course will provide an overview of techniques and instrumentation used in molecular testing from the framework of the "Molecular Pathology/Molecular Diagnostic Toolkit." The methodologies and technologies that comprise this toolkit will be introduced, followed by case discussions to demonstrate how these tools are employed in the molecular testing laboratory and the informatics pipeline. Emphasis will be placed on molecular testing in the areas of clinical genetics, solid tumors, hematopathology, and infectious diseases. The application of novel technologies, such as next generation sequencing and informatics, will be highlighted.

Who Should Attend?
Pathologists, residents, laboratory directors and technologists who have little experience with molecular diagnostic testing.

AMP 2015 Annual Meeting

Plan now to stay after the course and attend the entire Association for Molecular Pathology 2015 Annual Meeting! The scientific sessions of the AMP Annual Meeting will take place immediately following the AMP 2015 Molecular Pathology Outreach Course from November 5-7, 2015, at the Austin Hilton in Austin, Texas

**Separate registration is required to attend the AMP Annual Meeting**
