It is with a combination of pride, excitement and sadness that I see this year pass by as my last as Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Molecular Diagnostics.  The Journal, like many of the things AMP does, grew out of the time, hard work, and dedication of its devoted members.  It has achieved the success it has as a result of the ongoing energies of AMP members, an expert Editorial staff, and efforts from an international group of authors and reviewers.  It has been my great honor to serve in a leadership role for the journal, and a great pleasure to work with these many talented people.

I would like to congratulate Timothy O’Leary who has been appointed the new Editor-in-Chief!  Tim has been deeply involved in AMP over the years and will do a terrific job with JMD!  He brings considerable expertise and perspective in a wide range of issues related to the breadth of molecular diagnostics.  He will be assisted by Barbara Zehnbauer, serving as Senior Associate Editor, with her valuable experience as Associate Editor these past years.  Along with the remainder of the Editorial Board, The Journal is in excellent hands!  I am very enthusiastic about the coming years for JMD, as I am certain this journal will continue to grow and evolve in exciting ways—and am also certain that Tim and Barbara will be very busy.
