The end of each year brings with it the need to look
back to achievements and significant events.
Newspapers and journals are putting forward their
selections for “Man of the Year” or “Molecule of the
Year” and publishing their lists of top this and top
that. I have been wondering what achievement or
test AMP would identify as singularly outstanding or
significant for our practice in 2008. What might be
the AMP “Test of the Year”?

Leadership Award for 2008.

receives her award from Andrea Ferreira-Gonzalez,
2008 Nominating Committee Chair.
Karen has been an active member of AMP since its
beginning, having served as President in 2002 and
was the founding Senior Editor and then
Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Molecular
Diagnostics.

Photo Contest Winners
Many digital images were submitted for the AMP Newsletter 2008
Photo Contest. Photographs had to be amusing, creative,
entertaining, inspiring and to include one meeting attendee.
A selection was made by the Newsletter editors on the
basis of originality and execution. The winners are:
