AMP Web
Editorial Board
This
Newsletter shares with you more of the “behind the
scenes” efforts we are making to enhance our web presence.
We are working rapidly to have a functional website, with a
“go live” date coinciding with the Annual 2010 AMP Meeting
Call for Abstracts announcement in the Spring. A new
website has been established. While we have not officially
transitioned to the site, with the help of team members Alta
and Chris Wallington at the AMP/ASIP office, we are in the
mode of optimizing the redesign, reorganization, and
“tweaking” other aspects such as the architecture of each
page, editable regions and more. Chris is in the process of
moving content over from the current website to the new
site. This new site will become the “go
to” place for Molecular
Pathology. We have multiple members, working under a
specific hierarchy, with the intent to allow each Content
Editor to implement their own updates with greater speed and
efficiency. Committee and Subdivision revision pages are
in progress. In order to achieve rapid input and updating,
we are using Adobe Contribute. There will be many
writers, who will submit their content for review, who in
turn submit finalized content to website publishers. Using
both internal AMP Web Editorial Committee members and
ad hoc
members for Committee updates, we will provide a dynamic
portal for sharing of Committee and Subdivision information
to be directly translated to the website. This will allow
users of the website to be appraised of current happenings
within AMP. Introduced to you in the previous
Newsletters, the “Content” team is comprised of
representatives from each of the AMP Subdivisions: Genetics
(Ron Przygodzki -
Ronald.Przygodzki@va.gov),
Hematopathology (David Bosler -
boslerd@ccf.org),
Infectious Diseases (Wayne Wang -
yfwang@emory.edu), and Solid Tumors (George Netto
-
gnetto1@jhmi.edu and Katherine Geiersbach -
katherine.geiersbach@aruplab.com). Other liaisons on
the Board, Ted Schutzbank (Publications Committee
Chair -
ted.schutzbank@covance.com),
Kathleen Murphy
(AMP Web Library Editor -
kmurphy4@jhmi.edu) and Alexis Carter (AMP
Test Directory Editor -
abcart2@emory.edu) will continue to work with us to
accelerate this endeavor. You will hear more as we increase
our operational capacities. As always, if you have
suggestions, questions, or want to be more involved, please
do not hesitate to contact me or the other members of the
Web Editorial Board! Stay tuned for more about this
exciting endeavor! |
